General Election 12th December 2019

News and Facts

Welcome to the Bremain in Spain General Election 2019 Special

As we head towards yet another Brexit election – the most important election of our lifetimes – Bremain is here to guide you along the way. We will provide you with all the information, advice and tools you will need to ensure we return a pro-European parliament that will end the Brexit chaos once and for all.

The links below will connect you to a range of election facts that provides a wealth of information for Britons voting from Europe.

Our goal is to return as many anti-Brexit MPs to Westminster as possible and to stop Boris Johnson’s damaging hard Brexit in its tracks. The more support we can gain in parliament for stopping Brexit and for a #FinalSay confirmatory referendum, the sooner we can put Brexit behind us.

For those lucky enough to still have a vote, please use it! We recommend voting tactically to ensure a Remain government.

Make sure you’re still registered, apply for, complete and return the appropriate paperwork promptly, and make your voices heard. Bremain strongly recommends voting by proxy rather than by post as we have been badly let down by the postal voting system in the past.

Please don’t leave anything to the last minute as we’re working with tight deadlines.

If you don’t have a vote, there’s still plenty you can do:

  • Encourage everyone you know who is eligible to vote to do so. They are voting on your behalf.
  • It is especially important to persuade the young to vote
  • Students in the UK can register to vote in their hometown and in their university town but must elect to vote at one or the other
  • Young people in Spain may never have voted before but can still register as long as a parent has been registered to vote in the last 15 years
  • Share information and our Election memes on social media and let’s ensure a big turnout of Pro-Europeans

Our election information will be updated regularly – we’re grateful to members and to our dedicated Election Volunteer Team, led by Sandra Stretton, for providing up-to-date data. We’ll try to provide as much detail as possible on a per constituency basis and will be keeping a careful eye on marginal target seats. We’ll also be working closely with an alliance of groups including Gina Miller’s Remain United and Best for Britain’s Tactical Voting Campaign, Peoples’ Vote, Britain for Europe, European Movement, and many more. Together we are stronger!

Please vote tactically to ensure a pro-European, anti-Brexit parliament for 2020. We are still in the EU, and we’re not going anywhere! So do your bit & vote – this is the vote of your life!

Thank you!  Sue Wilson – Chair
